Week 2 Update
Thank you to everyone for making our first week as a team a success. We worked hard, ran TONS and had fun along the way! Remind your child that they need to be "ALL IN", encouraging each other and learning together. We will work to practice encouraging each other and learning from each other. We ALL have strengths to share with our team mates.
Weekly Training Schedule:
Monday (Hills/Strength)Discussion on proper hill technique
Running loop with hills and/or hill repeats
Tuesday (Endurance)
Discussion on staying relaxed when you're working hard :)
3-mile relaxed run (kids are divided into four group for the run or run/walk)
Wednesday (Surging/Speed)
Discussion on surging (during a race)
50-100 meter repeats (at level)
Thursday (Starts/Game day)
Discussion on starts (race starting)
Rainbow game!
Reminders:
- Pick up time for practice is at 4:30pm sharp, thank you for your help with this.
- Uniform: due to the many issues in sizing we will NOT be using the issued shorts in our uniform. (I think I heard cheers from my house :)) Please make sure your child has black running shorts for meets.
- This Wednesday, August 31 = pictures for Cross Country --near HCMS soccer field on west side of school {3:00pm individuals, 3:15pm team} (Bring Uniform)
